British War Medal to Lieutenant Ernest Howe, 83rd (1st/3rd Home Counties) Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps.  Lieutenant Howe was a graduate of Victoria University, Manchester and was the son of John and Anne Howe, Dove Holes, Derbyshire and the husband of Gertrude Howe, Rhos on Sea, Denbighshire.  He died on 14th December 1916 and is remembered at the Mikra British Cemetery, Kalamaria.  Includes MIC confirming entitlement.  Also includes Internet research that shows that Lieutenant Howe had less than 100 hours of active service before being killed during an aircraft bombing raid at Tasli (NEF-EF)
